Riding the Hennepin Feeder Canal on 7-9-12

We took off this morning on our ride ended up riding 20.06 miles, took longer because I am not yet up to 100 % after Saturdays mishap, plus I ran out of sugar on the way back and had to stop and chew some Glucose tabs. Lots of dead fish from last weeks excessive heat, hundreds of floating fish, south of Knief Road they had some wind, trail was covered in sections with branches and twigs, plus half a tree across the path and into the water, at another point there was a big limb still attached to the tree hanging to the ground at the edge of the path. I called into the park office and reported it and they were sending someone out to clear the path.
Later this afternoon I took my bike and new clip shoes over to Mead's Bike Shop as I was experiencing some problems getting the left shoe to release, Bryce checked them out and said I just have to get used to the way the clips work, they worked fine for him, while it was there he checked everything out gave the bike a clean bill of health. As usual servive with a smile. We talked a bit about the TdF and some of the riders. Bryce used to compete professionally.
