The difference a day makes in Illinois on the canal

On Monday it was in the lower 50's , on Tuesday it was in the teens and it had snowed, the following pictures show the difference a day makes.

First ride of 2013 on the Hennipen feeder canal

It was so nice today I had to get out and ride the canal, the temperature was in the lower 50's, not bad for February in Illinois. Better than some places in Florida today. I got the old Schwinn down and aired up the tires, the TREK is on the Trainer so I took the Schwinn.

I was surprised to see 5 others on bikes out riding and about a dozen walkers/joggers. I had a head wind all the way to Buehl road, believe me riding a trainer is not as hard as a real ride, yes I know if you ride 10 miles on a trainer there is no coasting, but there are no hills and no head wind.
I managed 8 .24 miles in about 50 minutes with a average of 9.3 mph, sad! I am really out of shape!
