I was surprised to see 5 others on bikes out riding and about a dozen walkers/joggers. I had a head wind all the way to Buehl road, believe me riding a trainer is not as hard as a real ride, yes I know if you ride 10 miles on a trainer there is no coasting, but there are no hills and no head wind.
I managed 8 .24 miles in about 50 minutes with a average of 9.3 mph, sad! I am really out of shape!

2013 First ride on the feeder canal
Looking north from Buehl Road on a Feb. Day
Rail Road Bridge south of Dixon Avenue
The Guard Lock at the Rock River, kind of a gloomy day but not bad for February in Northern Illinois.
